St Peter Julian Eymard's words:

"On the day of her Immaculate Conception, Mary received a magnificent dowry in keeping with her sublime duties and her incomparable dignity as Mother of God. She received then that treasure of grace which was to make her the co-redemptrix of mankind, partner in the work of salvation. She never missed an opportunity of practicing virtue. She welcomed all the rays of God's holiness, absorbing them into her being without letting anything to be loss. She trembled before an angel. Mary never thought that she had done enough. Her later life was a prolonged martyrdom without the least alleviation. Mary embroidered the robe of her Immaculate Conception.  It is only through our purity and holiness that we can prevail with God. God can only accomplish great things in pure souls.  With what watchful care should we not guard our Baptismal innocence! If we have lost it we must purify it by penance. We must be pure. Without purity we can never please the Eucharistic God, for He is purity itself for purity is love." abbrev.text


​MEDITATION:



St. Peter Julian Eymard's spiritual insight can move the deep recesses of the heart. How again can we bring the message he is conveying into our lives? If Mary is the Co-Redemptrix of mankind, the partner in the work of salvation with Jesus, then our call is to ask for grace. We ask Mary, who is, "Full of Grace," every time we say the Hail Mary too, "Pray for us sinners." It is a very good practice to ask for grace daily. Grace will help us grow in virtue, grow in purity, grow in wisdom, and ultimately grow in love. Saint Pope John Paul II reminds us over and over again, "Be not afraid." We think for a moment here, Mary trembled before an angel, her trembling was from never thinking she did enough for the Almighty, her love was magnificent. Mary's later years of prolonged martyrdom reveal to us her knowledge on the merits of offering suffering up to receive back the gift of grace. This reality is what made her give to the Father with absolute purity. The anguish of her heart that she offered to God brought grace, for even after the Crucifixion Mary sacrificed for sinners. The jewels she placed on her robe were gifts that she offered in love to God. We too are invited to create a robe of salvation with our lives by the way of living out the Sacraments. Jesus living in the Eucharist is the greatest of all Sacraments of Grace available to us.

If you cannot get to daily Mass, you should offer a spiritual Communion. The faith you place in the prayer is the grace you will receive from it.
Keep a journal. Plan on making a good incisive confession. May this preparation to consecrate your life to Jesus Christ be a time to offer sacrifices in the hope of rising closer to God.
