St Peter Julian Eymard's words:

Chapter title: MARY, OUR MISTRESS IN THE CENACLE

"Disciple, behold thy Mother!" When Mary heard these words form the lips of her dying Son, words which mean so much to us, her soul suffered inexpressible anguish. What! the disciple instead of the Master; John instead of Jesus; the creature instead of the Son of God! But Our Blessed Mother lovingly accepts the substitution. ...

Mary's mission will be to superintend our Christian education...Mary will have but to draw therefrom, to distribute the Bread that He left us. ...

She will conceive, will form and perfect Jesus in us....Her mission to which she is ever faithful,is to give us Jesus. ...
...Happy is he who has received from her his first lessons in holiness;...

Thus it is Mary who forms and guards,...she makes piety sweet and easy. ... Sanctity that is fashioned by Jesus alone has an austere character; that which Jesus and Mary form together is more attractive....Let Mary then lead us to Jesus; let her teach us to know and to love Him. In this alone consists true sanctity and perfect happiness.

Practice-We should pray to Mary that all those in their last agony may receive Holy Viaticum worthily.

Aspiration-Hail, Mary, celestial Cloud which sheds the Eucharist over the world, like a beneficent dew!



MEDITATION

"Sanctity that is fashioned by Jesus alone has an austere character; that which Jesus and Mary form together is more attractive..." St.Peter Julian Eymard continues to bring light to the life giving stream of God's love through the heart of Our Blessed Mother. He calls Mary our mistress, she who will supervise us into the Eucharistic Kingdom. We are her servants without question. Mary molds us into the Profession of our faith; we become one, holy, Catholic and Apostolic. Entering into the life of the church we carry the tradition that Our Mother passes on to her children. This tradition we carry through the womb of Mary is the life giving Bread that comes down from Heaven. "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eats of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world." (John 6:51) Mary forms guards for her Son who will find happiness and sanctity that flow from the Altar of the Lord.

Mary will conceive us into the perfection of Jesus throughout our lives. She accepts us at the foot of the cross in exchange of her Son. Mary takes hold of us for the love of Jesus. His life for our sins, her love for his life; we are blessed with a Mother.

"Can a woman forget her infant, so as not to have pity on the son of her womb? and if she should forget, yet will not I forget thee." (Isaiah 49:15)

The Promise of the Father lives through these words, "yet will I not forget thee." God will never abandon us, He completes His human family with the care of our Mother. Mary is the Mistress of the cenacle. The cenacles of our hearts are formed by her, formed at every celebration of the Eucharist where we enter into the Mass by our participation. We offer ourselves in the likeness of our Mother to our Heavenly Father. We pray for Mary's intentions united to our own. We become like our beneficent Mother when we allow her to teach us the law of love. We are conceived into God's Eternal Love, we find It here in the Blessed Sacrament and we bring It with us to Heaven by the guidance of Mary.

Gratitude is the gift to be given back for God's great love. We praise Him, we bless Him, we adore Him, we glorify Him, we give Him thanks for His great glory. "For God loveth mercy and truth: the Lord will give grace and glory." (Psalm 84:1) Children of Mary will always be given the grace to return the love. Those who call upon Mary will find all of her promises passed down from the Father through her for her children. The promise will be made Incarnate through the Life of Jesus Christ unto the end of time in us. "That being enriched in all things, you may abound unto all simplicity, which worketh through us thanksgiving to God." (2 Cor.9:11)

Mary conceived and beheld a Son who is Jesus. She beholds us, teaches us, nurtures us and loves us. God will never forget us, His love is brought to life in us. We will never forget Him in return for all that He promised us in the life giving love found in JESUS.

Mary! Teach us the Law of Love!

Make a perpetual promise to recite a spiritual communion prayer if you cannot get to daily Mass, the faith you place into the prayer is the grace you will receive from it. Continue to journal and prepare for a good and humble confession. Try to find time to spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Pray in thanksgiving for the gift of Our Mother and the traditions that will be passed on through you.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

Blessed are you, Mary exalted daughter of Sion!
You are highly favoured and full of grace, for the spirit of God descended upon you.
We magnify the Lord and rejoice with you for the gift of the Word made flesh, bread of life and cup of joy.
Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, our model of prayer in the cenacle, pray for us that we may become what we receive, the body of Christ your son.
