Do This in Memory of Me: Divine Grace

By Laura Worhacz

“Mary possessed all supernatural greatness. Supernatural greatness is but the reflection of God upon a creature whom He associates with Himself in power and glory. The Holy Ghost guards her as His spouse. She was destined to share in the great work of divine power, she is associated with the empire of God Himself. She is, as it were, penetrated with the rays of the Divinity, like unto a pure crystal into which the sunbeam enters. The moon is under her feet, typifying her unshakable power which defies inconstancy, for she has vanquished, once and forever the infernal dragon. Jesus has confided to her all the means of salvation, and she is honored by all the Saints, who are the work of her love and her protection.”
- St. Peter Julian Eymard (Eymard Library Volume 7, page 29-30)

Dearest Eucharistic Family,

In the likeness of the Mother of God and our Mother we ask the Holy Spirit to guard us as His spouse. LIVE IN THE GRACE OF THE MOMENT! In today’s Liturgy Jesus tells the parable of the fig tree. (Lk 13:1-9) He is inviting us again to share in the “rays of His Divinity”. The graces offered to us from Heaven at every Holy Mass by our reception of Holy Communion are available by our participation. This is God’s hope for us.

This week there were a vast number of unexpected occurrences that seemed to consume my time. At such moments we are not thinking of figs or bearing fruit for the Lord, only hoping to discern so to live in the grace of the moment. We can afford this by the Eucharist which we receive, recalling God’s life in us. Being attentive, conscious of the present moment, offering our time to those whom we encounter daily, are ways in which we find the “unshakable power which defies inconstancy”. Mary has paved the way for us in following her Son through the Via Dolorosa. In her joyful ascent, trusting in the mystery of love by her intimate relationship with our Father, the reality of His love is once again conceived. Mary lived in the grace of the moment and so lived what St. Paul preached and reminds us of in today’s First Reading which... “brings about the Body’s growth and builds itself up in love.” (Eph: 4: 7-16)

Have a Blessed Day in the Lord. If you cannot attend daily Mass, please remember to offer in a spirit of prayer a fervent spiritual communion.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

Blessed are you, Mary exalted daughter of Sion!
You are highly favoured and full of grace, for the spirit of God descended upon you.
We magnify the Lord and rejoice with you for the gift of the Word made flesh, bread of life and cup of joy.
Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, our model of prayer in the cenacle, pray for us that we may become what we receive, the body of Christ your son. Amen.

Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament, pray for us.
St. Peter Julian Eymard, Apostle of the Eucharist, pray for us.
Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, have MERCY on us
