Do This in Memory of Me: She obtains for us every grace

“The Blessed Virgin is not like the Saints, who obtain for us certain specific graces, and that but occasionally. She obtains for us every grace; we have always need of her. Again, it is the mother who teaches the child the little compliment which she herself has prepared for the father; she knows the father’s tastes so well. Do you see the analogy? I would say to each one of you; adore our Lord in the company of His Blessed Mother. I do not say abide in Mary. No. Jesus is there before you in order that you may speak to Him direct; but do so with Mary; live in her company. Dearest Eucharistic Family,

An exhortation is to make an address or communicate emphatically urging someone to do something. What better exhortation can we make than to call upon our mother. How can we be sent into the world without the security of a family, how can we live without the protection of God’s love? We cannot, and Our Father would not have it so. As consecrated children of Mary, we must live with a conscious awareness of our mother’s love and strive to nourish our relationship with her whose only goal is to bring us to the heart of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. We then carry that heart by the psalm “Be Still and Know that I am God” we transfer the stillness into a world that is not still, a world that is continuously running. We bring the presence of God with us through Holy Communion, bringing that Communion into every encounter. The exhortation carries on; we make an address by emphatically taking on the pains and sorrows of others bringing them hope of what will come to us in heaven. Heaven can be found in the now by our company with Mary as she teaches us the pathway to salvation. The father’s tastes as Saint Peter Julian enlightens us to are found in caring for one another. By living in Mary’s company, we live in the exhortation of the Proclamation of the Gospels. We adore the Blessed Sacrament with our mother as our directress so when we leave our home of worship we may receive from Jesus through Mary every spiritual grace as we embrace the duties demanded of us in our daily lives.

Blessed are you, Mary exalted daughter of Sion!
You are highly favoured and full of grace, for the spirit of God descended upon you.
We magnify the Lord and rejoice with you for the gift of the Word made flesh, bread of life and cup of joy.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, our model of prayer in the Cenacle, pray for us that we may become what we receive, the body of Christ, your son.
