DARKNESS HAS COVERED THE EARTH!

St. Peter Julian Eymard's words:

OUR LORD'S EXPIATION OF SIN

Jesus accepted every humiliation in order to make reparation for all pride. The word humiliated Himself to the state of a slave: He came to be sacrificed; His whole life was nothing but one long humiliation culminating in the opprobrium of Calvary.

Observe how He humiliated Himself....

MEDITATION

Good Friday

Where would we be without a place to put our sorrows? We offer everything up, placing our lives high on the Cross with Jesus Christ. We unite our sacrifices to the One who came to be sacrificed and humiliated for us. Jesus loved humility. We find a place, the Altar of the Lord to offer our lives, crosses, toils and disappointments so to obtain the PEACE of Christ that He has promised us. Jesus tells us to learn from Him for He is meek and humble of heart. He is inviting us to learn, and when we find His meek and humble heart there is rest for the soul. The saints mastered the reality of offering their lives to the Cross of Christ. They did learn that the grace that was returned for the offering was a place of Divine Love. Jesus is glorified by our credit to Him. His humility is raised to the heights of Heaven where the Glory of God the Father sets light over the darkness. In finding a place for our sorrows our tombs will be emptied only to be filled with the Love of God that can be found in Jesus Christ. Good Friday, a time to offer our thanksgiving to the Son of God who came to suffer and die for us so we may be brought to the fullness of life this side of Heaven. Jesus' life has brought us back to Our Father.

St. Peter Julian: Humility was something our Lord loved, embraced, and made His own so completely that it was the only thing in which He glorified and which He wanted credited to Him: "Learn from Me; I am gentle and humble of heart."

SEND:

God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son who died for each of us.

Take this day until the Easter Vigil in silence to the best of your ability, recalling to your heart God's great LOVE!
